In April our central air conditioning went out. We called five different companies for quotations and received figures ranging from $6,200 to two in excess of $9,000. Our fourth bid was from Acme Air Conditioning, who was surprised that others wanted to replace our system when it could be easily repaired for $1,650.00. Having heard nothing but excellent reports about their work quality, we had them order the parts and within days our system was repaired and working more efficiently that when new. From Jeff and Lorin who did the estimate, to the men that did the work in our home, we experienced the highest level of professionalism of any service organization we have ever hired.
Clearly there is a reason that Acme Air Conditioning has been around for almost 60 years – business ethics and a commitment to excellence. We are so glad we made the call.
Dear Mr. Bridge:
Your firm recently installed a Goodman A/C Heat Pump in my residence at [address]. My initial contact with your firm was through the phone book and how long your company has been in business. Scott Hayes came to my house to answer a service call that I couldn't’t get the heat to come on one of our cold December days. He solved the problem quickly and politely. I talked with him about new A/C units. He expressed himself about the new units and the new SEER regulations. After the first of the year I contacted your firm again about replacing my existing unit. My contact was with Jeff Colon. His polite and thorough manner left me feeling like I was in the right place with ACME.
We worked out a deal on a Goodman unit. Then we ran into problems with the insulation in the attic. One firm wanted a fortune to remove enough for your men to work. Then I unfortunately suffered a stroke. Then on the week of February 20, your installation men arrived. Don’t have their last names, but I'm sure you will know who I'm referring to when I say Ed, Mike Carl and Wayne. Jeff was coordinating the group. They came each day, went straight to work, everybody knew what their job was. The work moved along smoothly and quietly. On the 23rd, the installation was complete. On the 24th, the Inspector signed-off on the job complete.
I would like to congratulate you, your firm and especially your GREAT professional employees for a job well done. If I can, in the future serve as a reference, please do not hesitate to call on me.

Today we continue with readers' nominations to the customer service Hall of Fame.
Acme Air Conditioning, St. Petersburg: "In late January, during the coldest spell of the year, our furnace quit working. I called Acme Air Conditioning, and it sent out a technician on a Saturday. He worked for two hours to get it working, which it did for a little while, then quit again. It took more service calls before the bad part could be found and replaced and heat was on. During that time, owner Lorin Bridge called to see how we were doing; I really appreciated that. The company never charged for the repeat service calls. The repairman was so diligent and worked so hard that I sent a letter to Mr. Bridge telling him about it. It is wonderful to know there is a company that has integrity and can be relied upon."
